hello
Hi, I’m Laurie LaPorte — a photographer based in Henniker, New Hampshire, specializing in birth photography, maternity sessions, and in-home newborn photography. I work with families across New Hampshire, including Concord, Manchester, Hopkinton, Lebanon, and the surrounding towns.
Whether I’m quietly documenting the intensity of labor, the first breath of a brand new baby, or the sweet, ordinary moments at home in those hazy newborn days, I approach my work with reverence, calm, and care. I believe that your story matters — and that these fleeting chapters deserve to be seen and remembered.
One client shared: "We had an in-home newborn session with Laurie, and she was great! She was so patient as our little one was a bit fussy. The gallery was delivered days before promised and turned out incredible. 10/10 recommend Laurie for your family photography needs!"
When I’m not photographing fresh babies and growing families, you’ll find me in Henniker, New Hampshire, with my husband, our three boys, two cats, and a dog. I love coffee, thrifting, Hallmark movies, decorating, and cheering on my kids from the sidelines. Our home is its own kind of beautiful chaos, which I’ve been documenting daily since starting my first 365 Project on January 1, 2020.
I’m a self-taught photographer who finds beauty in the everyday moments of family life. My work has been featured in local galleries, and I’ve collaborated with brands such as Natursutten, Jonas Paul Eyewear, and Lulla Doll.
I approach photography with a simple philosophy: I take the photos I’d want of my own children. I aim to capture the personality, connection, and perfectly imperfect moments of birth, the newborn days, childhood, and family life.
Let’s tell your family’s story—one real, beautiful moment at a time.
Please note: I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as well as up to date on all of my other vaccinations, including (but not limited to) Tdap, flu, and MMR.

How this works:
1
Book Online
Gone are the days of emailing back and forth 15 times to find the perfect session date. You can pick your session date from my online calendar, sign your contract, and pay your deposit in one sitting! I'll message you to confirm your date and the next steps. Expectant parents can pick an approximate date, and we'll confirm your date when the baby arrives. You'll get information about preparing so you can feel confident for your session.
2
Your Session
Birth sessions occur in your birth space (on the baby's schedule). Newborn sessions will be held at your home at about 10 a.m. Outdoor family, senior, and maternity sessions will be scheduled about an hour before sunset. I'll walk you through the process as we go, so you won't have to guess how to stand or where to place your hand. My goal is to make you and your family feel great and not worry about how the pictures will turn out—it will be easy and go smoothly, so there is no need to worry!
3
After the Session
Your contract will outline how long before you see your photos, but I'll make sure to go over that with you. All the session's images will be delivered to you in a private online gallery. You'll download from your gallery and have the option to order prints. If your session includes a complimentary album, you'll receive that within 4 weeks of viewing your gallery.
frequently asked questions
What kinds of photography do you offer?
I specialize in maternity, birth, and in-home newborn photography. I also offer family sessions for returning clients and milestone sessions for babies in their first year. Additionally, I offer volume photography for New Hampshire schools and sports leagues.
Where are you located, and what areas do you serve?
I’m based in Henniker, New Hampshire, and serve families across NH, including Concord, Manchester, Lebanon, Hopkinton, and surrounding towns.
What is your approach to photography?
My style is calm, honest, and connection-focused. I use natural light, minimal posing, and aim to document the beauty of your story exactly as it unfolds - whether that’s during labor, the early days at home, or quiet moments between you and your baby.
Do you photograph births in hospitals, birth centers, or at home?
Yes, I photograph births in all settings, including hospitals, home births, and midwifery-led birth centers. I’m experienced working alongside doulas, midwives, and medical teams in a respectful, unobtrusive way.
What can I expect during an in-home newborn session?
Your session will be relaxed and baby-led. I’ll gently guide you into natural moments of connection while allowing plenty of time for feeding, changing, and snuggling. These sessions focus on your bond and your baby’s early days, no props or pressure, just your real life.
When should I book a session with you?
For birth photography, I recommend reaching out early in your second trimester. For maternity and newborn sessions, most families book in the second or early third trimester to ensure availability.
